Ninth Annual Diocesan Walk

Pictures from the SVDP “Friends of the Poor Walk” September 28, 2019

Prince of Peace SVDP members, KofC members of Council 14111(about $2,000 in donations from Council 14111 and their members), KSKJ Lodge 110 (matching grant of up to $2,000), their families, the Youth Groups, and parishioners participated in the National SVDP Friends of the Poor Walk Saturday, September 28, 2019 to help the poor in the Barberton area.  There were 90 people in attendance. The Summit County site was our parish grounds at Prince of Peace. Registration was 9am, Walk was at 10am (short walk around the church; long walk marked in our back field), Raffle at 10:30am in the pavilion. The long walk had the path marked by 34 signs with short prayers or sayings from the Bible or famous people ( one sign is pictured at the end of the pictures). The only sign missing at the end was a Burma Shave Sign.

in 2019, it is estimated Prince of Peace has raised over $7,500 in total to help the needy in the Barberton area thanks to generous doations, KofC Council 14111, and KSKJ Lodge 110.

Thanks also to the Button Box group (with Lisa Pelton) for providing lively polka music from 9am to 10am to show the ethnic roots of Barberton. In addition, participants were invited to the Barberton Mum Fest in downtown Barberton September 28 and 29..
