Parish Question for the Week Re-read the gospel passage for the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Mark 1:29-39. In the Gospel, Jesus is depicted as being actively engaged in his successful ministry of healing; this includes raising up for service Simon's mother in law, symbolizing the call to discipleship. . Take a moment to reflect on how God is speaking to you in the above gospel passage, attracting the attention of your heart. Then consider the following question for reflection during the week before our next celebration of the Eucharist together. Ask yourself "so what?" What difference does this gospel passage make in my life and that of the faith community at Prince of Peace? Meditate on this. Decide to change one thing in your personal life before our next weekend Eucharist together. Parish Question of the Week: Nothing we do comes without at least some practice. Prayer can feel awkward and self-conscious when we first begin, or when we return to it after a long time away. But if we let ourselves be absorbed in the rhythm, it will take us where we need to be. Prayer is God's way of taking us by the hand to heal our fevered thoughts. Reflect on these thoughts and bring this effort to our next Sunday Eucharist together as a parish community.
