Ardmore Christmas Collection by Prince of Peace-2020
Attention all Prince of Peace parishioners: As you are aware, Prince of Peace Youth Group sponsors Christmas give bags for clients of Ardmore, developmentally disabled adults who are independent and do not necessarily have family that provide for them on a regular basis. Our parish provides for these special folks by donating essential items that can be given to them for Christmas. These gifts generally include hats, scarves, gloves, toiletries, etc. Because of COVID-19, this project that our Parish Youth Group participates in every year has had to be changed somewhat. We really need cash donations so that items can be purchased and organized by as “few hands as possible.” Please consider donating in an envelope in the church collection or by sending a donation to the parish office. Your donations will help those who are most vulnerable and in need. These “clients” appreciate their gifts more than any of us can imagine. Thank you for your generosity and we hope you have an awesome holiday season(Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year)!
These adults have autism and developmental disabilities. We asked parishioners to donate so that these people will not be forgotten during the holiday season. For 95% of these individuals, the gift bag they receive from Prince of Peace will be their only gift for Christmas. There are about 156 individuals; there are more males than female. Parishioners can donate any of the following items from November 24 through December 15.
Any students from grades 7-12 are welcome to help make the gift bags Saturday, December 5; Please contact Mike and Terri Noe at [email protected] or 330-335-5304 to let them know you will be assisting in this worthwhile cause.
Gift bags will be put together by the HS YOUTH on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 10:30 at the school. Masks and social distancing will be adhered to. The insert in the bulletin has the correct info.
Below are pictures from past years collection for Ardmore in Summit County. Thanks go to Prince of Peace parishioners for donating the items and to the Prince of Peace Youth Group for wrapping, packing, and delivering holiday gifts for all 156 clients at Ardmore.
