WELCOME---Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Working Through Life's Plan

In the reading from Job, Job begins a journey through suffering; he is in too much pain to believe he will see happiness again. In the reading from I Corinthians, Paul speaks of his vocation to preach God's call puts him under an obligation to preach, but he does so willingly and experiences great joy in bringing people to Christ. In the Gospel from Mark, Jesus is depicted as being actively engaged in his successful ministry of healing; this includes raising up for service Simon's mother in law, symbolizing the call to discipleship. .

The color for this Sunday is Green

Plan to visit our web page on a regular basis: daily to make use of our special links(today's Scripture, Thought for the Day, and Saint) and weekly to see what is happening at the parish plus updates of other pages.

This web page is just a beginning attempt to highlight many of the worship, educational, service, and social activities that draw our faith community closer to Jesus and to one another. We invite you to enrich this parish community by volunteering your own gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Check out our list of ministries by clicking on the "Parish Ministries/Organizations" menu and see what gifts you have that you are being called to share with our faith community. We feel that we have something special to offer and just need "you" to make it even more perfect.

Join us at our Sunday Eucharistic Liturgy which is the "source and summit" of all that we do as a faith community in Christ Jesus. This is where we gather together, hear the Scriptures, are nurtured by Jesus in the Eucharist and in turn nurture each other, and then are sent out or missioned to live what we have learned and experienced until we gather again for our next Sunday Eucharist. This is where we derive "the true Christian Spirit" for our daily lives. The faith community here has a special gift of friendliness and welcome for all. Join us and experience it personally yourself. Are you an inactive Catholic? Check out C'mon Back? for information about returning. Please keep our faith community in your prayers as we will keep you in ours.
